SAYING A FOND FAREWELL
Saying goodbye to a loved one can be so very difficult. Let me help you create a funeral service to fittingly pay tribute to a long life well lived or one that was sadly oh, too short.
With my nursing and midwifery background, I am empathetic, caring and consider myself a good listener. I absolutely respect and acknowledge an individuals personal beliefs. Every family is unique, I understand that grief just as it can bond a family it can sometimes exacerbate existing fractured relationships.
Never be afraid to cry.
In your time of loss I will be with you every step of the way. Together we can walk a pathway to discuss and plan a fitting service for a loved one. With stories and anecdotes gleaned, I will carefully plan & write the service, liaising with both you and your chosen Funeral Director along the way. By now I am hopeful that you will realise that writing creatively pumps wildly through my rusty old heart! You will have the opportunity to read my script to ensure it suitably reflects the character of your loved one.
“A tribute or eulogy is indeed an elaborate, or, on occasion, a simple yarn of a loved ones life. What an enormous privilege it is to weave and articulate meaningful words for a family’”
Over recent months many of us will have had to say goodbye to a loved one. In doing so we will have had to adhere to the ever changing rules and limitations of a funeral under Covid19 restrictions. Perhaps there will come a time when you would like to create a gathering of friends and family in a special place for a heartfelt commemoration for someone you have lost. Please contact me if this is something you would like to discuss.
Finally, in November 2018, I led a memorial service at my local war memorial to commemorate the centenary of the end of The Great War. Reciting “In Flanders Fields” the community came to remember the 53 local men who had given their lives during WWI. It was incredibly special and the pinnacle of my research to explore the lives of these brave men and those amazing souls who were active on the Home Front. We Will Remember Them.
